Saint Croix Valley Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)
Volunteer with the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). Help your community. Build your skills. Make a difference.
The Saint Croix Valley MRC welcomes both medical and non-medical volunteers from St. Croix, Polk, and Pierce counties. Together, we support our neighbors during emergencies and at community health events.
We’ll contact you with next steps and training.
Why Volunteer?
- Make a real impact. Be there when our communities needs help the most.
- Use your skills. Health care experience is helpful but not required — there’s a role for everyone.
- Learn and be ready. Receive free training so you can respond with confidence.
- Serve close to home. Support local response and recovery in the St. Croix Valley.
What Volunteers Do
During Emergencies
Volunteers step in to support our communities when it’s needed most. This can include:
- Helping at vaccination or medication clinics
- Staffing phone hotlines and make wellness calls
- Supporting hospitals and clinics
- Assisting with data entry, language services, and community outreach
Between Emergencies
Volunteers stay active and prepared by helping with community health efforts, such as:
- Joining drills and training exercises
- Helping at public health clinics
- Assisting with outreach and education events
Who Can Volunteer?
You don’t need medical experience to make a difference. The MRC welcomes a wide range of volunteers, including:
- Practicing, retired, or otherwise employed medical professionals, such as doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, pharmacists, nurses' assistants, and others
- Public health professionals
- Community members without medical training can assist with administrative and other essential support functions
Our Partners
The St. Croix Valley MRC works closely with local organizations such as the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), and others to help ensure volunteers go where they are needed most.
We also encourage MRC members to register as volunteers with the American Red Cross. Doing so provides the opportunity to take part in additional training and expand your ability to support local disaster response efforts.
