St. Croix County (SCC) Public Health is an agent of State of WI Department of Agriculture, Trade, & Consumer Protection (DATCP) for licensing and inspecting the operation and maintenance of public swimming pools and water attractions per the state code ATCP 76.
In the construction or an alteration phase of a commercial pool or water attraction, the State of WI Department of Safety and Professional Services(DSPS) conducts the plan review, the rough in, and the final inspections. Questions on this process or pool design would go to DSPS or email Tony Martin or call 262-548-8689.
Once DSPS has completed it’s final inspection and signed off on the project, SCC-Public Health licenses the pool and ensures the safe operation and maintenance. To apply for the pool license after DSPS has signed off on the construction go to: License and Inspections
