Can’t wait for the Clean Sweep event to get rid of your household, agricultural or commercial hazardous waste? Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and garages are all places where you may store items with properties that make them hazardous. Look for symbols or words like toxic, poisonous, corrosive, reactive, ignitable or flammable. A voucher up to $40 is available to help subsidize costs when St. Croix residents bring their hazardous waste directly to Logistics Recycling (LRI) in Somerset. Once you provide a materials list, LRI will give you a cost estimate and schedule a drop-off appointment.

Paints and stains will not be covered under the voucher program. They can be brought to the collection event in September. See our Collection Events page and scroll down to Hazardous Waste Collection Event for more details.
Once LATEX paint is no longer in a liquid form it is not considered hazardous waste and can be thrown in the trash. Use saw dust, kitty litter or a paint hardener to turn paint into a solid.
