[ARCHIVED] Wisconsin Food Code Revision

The State of Wisconsin Food Code, ATCP 75, that regulates retail food establishments such as restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, delis, special event food service, micro-markets, vending machines is in the process of being revised.

St. Croix County Public Health licenses and inspects these facilities within the county and would like the public and food establishment operators to be aware of the revision and of the opportunity for their voices to be heard.

Wisconsin updates the code every 4 years to stay current with the Federal Food Code but this revision will also includes updates following the merger of the restaurant and retail food programs last year so there will be some significant changes in license categories and definitions.

To review the revision summary and the exact language being proposed click here

To voice your support for the changes or suggest changes to the proposed code there are two options:

  • Attend one of the Public Comment Sessions around the state in December 2017.  Click to see the Hearing Notice with locations, dates, and times
  • If you do not want to attend in person, you can complete a comment card and submit by December 15, 2017.  Here is the comment card

If you have any questions on the code revision, you can contact Laurie Diaby at Saint Croix County Public Health by email at laurie.diaby@sccwi.gov
