Friend of Public Health

Sharon Reyzer holding a Friend of Public Health Award

Each year during Public Health Week, St. Croix County Public Health takes nominations and votes for a Friend of Public Health, an individual or group who positively impacts the well-being and health of St. Croix County residents. This year’s recipient is Sharon Reyzer. We celebrated Sharon’s hard work and accomplishments at a recent ceremony.

At the celebration current and past St. Croix County Public Health employees celebrated with Sharon and her family. The gathering included a slideshow of the impact Sharon has had on St. Croix County through supporting the mission of Public Health. An award was presented to Sharon and her name was added to a plaque with past awardees.

Sharon is a former Public Health Nurse with St. Croix County Public Health. She was with the department for over 30 years, serving as a supervisor for a portion of her time at the county. Sharon has continued, after her retirement, to support public health work in the community. She provides tremendous support to the community garden. Vegetables from the garden provide nutrition for many residents including clients at the St. Croix County Services Center and participants of the New Richmond School District Backpack Program. Sharon also assisted with public health efforts during the pandemic.

“Sharon was an extremely loved and impactful member of our team. Her continued work with the community around public health initiatives continues to provide a positive impact on our residents. We appreciate all she has done and continues to do.

Kelli Engen - St. Croix County Health Officer
